Subaru etunes4/16/2023 ![]() ![]() My first pull is alwaya on wastegate pressure, even on something like a stage 2 car. This allows me to potentially spot issues before getting on it. I have some specific CL logs I have them take prior to any pulls. I've taken him on as a customer and provide instruction on all that you've presented. On cars where a stock Cobb map would suffice, I wonder why they sometimes do so many pulls on the dyno? Don't they start off with a best guess baseline map for the car (like I assume an E-tuner would do)? Is it partly show, so they look to be earning their $500+ fees? For a DD with a few generic bolt-ons, can't tunes be pretty basic and straightforward? OTOH, I have had many cars/engines dyno tuned and the tuner often seems to creep up on the final results very conservatively. I have often thought, perhaps mistakenly, that if you're working with an experienced tuner they could give you a map that should perform better than canned maps from Cobb, right off the bat! Seems like there is some additional risk to this process. I wonder how that varies from the E-tune process? With an E-tune you must do a full-on pull to have data worth analyzing. ![]() They should recommend you stay out of the boost as you drive it to the shop if you're going to have it dyno-tuned. There's the garbage in~garbage out issue if you forget or are inaccurate. What I don't see discussed here is that your tuner will/should send you a good enough "starter map" based on information you provide about what you've done to your engine, exhaust, fuelling, etc. In the meantime, let us know if you have any questions. We'll get you added to the wait list and let you know as soon as we can get you on the schedule to bring the vehicle in. Currently we have a 45+ person wait list for tunes. This estimate also includes a fuel pressure regulator to help with the common stumble the STI's have. This also includes an IAT sensor to help with issues of heat soak and installing our wideband to streamline the tuning process. Please note that we do not warranty customer provided parts, this includes labor and the part itself. Next we have installing your downpipe, boost control solenoid. This estimate includes our pre-tune check over as we haven't seen the vehicle before and need to do a thorough inspection to make sure nothing needs to be addressed prior to tuning. Here is the estimate for the tuning process. This is why i ask about etune.everyone within 100 miles are booked for over months This is what this protuner planned on doing, ill copyvand paste his email at the bottom. ![]()
